Ady's First Christmas

Last weekend was Ady's first Christmas. She was 7 months on the day (born May 25th). My sister (Jen) and bro-in-law (Andrew) came up with her on Christmas Eve after I was off work. She's sitting up and giggling, but mostly she just smirks. I got two pictures of her for Christmas. One is on my desk and the other is above it. She is such a cutie!
I knit just about everything that I gave to her: a dress, top, brown skirt, and an elephant. Jen loves them all and that really made my Christmas. She crocheted the block for Ady that is in the picture. The six faces have the letters A-D-E-L-Y-N on them for Ady's name. Making stuff for her just makes it that much more special!
It was so wonderful to see how she has grown these past few months of her life. She is starting to grow a little personality with her smirks and the way she just stares at the camera when it is pulled out. She reaches and sometimes dives for an item if it's close enough. Right now, Ady is almost crawling, she scoots backwards on the wood floor! We can tell that she is trying to stand too, but that won't be for quite some time! I wonder how her personality will change. Is this a glimpse of how she will be or is it completely unrelated?
Let me tell ya, she loves her Uncle Richie, my brother. When he walks into the room she just drops everything and stares at him. I think we know who her favorite uncle is. Now we just have to make sure that I'm her favorite aunt ;-)
Jen, Ady, and Andrew are up again this weekend for a surprise anniversary party for my parents. They made it to 30 years on Dec. 29th. They are such great role models and I hope I can be half as good as my mom.
