Books about being a big sister
I have two beautiful neices, and my sister is expecting baby #3 this June. The girls will be 3 and a half and 5 when their brother is born. The oldest is excited about the new baby and can't wait for him to arrive. The youngest (soon to be the middle!) acts excited, but when I talk to her about it, I can tell she doesn't really understand. They have a book that' about being a big sister and having a new baby in the house - I read it to them when I was home over Christmas, and tried to say the "baby" in the story was their new baby brother. They both insisted that the "baby" was Kayla - the 3-year-old. That's how they've always heard the story, and they just couldn't grasp the idea that they could BOTH be big sisters
I realized that maybe I need to find a book for Kayla about being a big sister, maybe even about being the middle kid. I'm a middle kid, so I have a soft spot in my heart for Kayla, because I know it will be tough for her to give up that "baby" spot in the family.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a book about being a middle kid, or something else that might be a fun gift to help prepare her for having a new baby brother?
Thanks!
