Memorial Day Fun with the Kids
Memorial Day is right around the corner, and it’s the unofficial start of the summer season! With your nieces home from school, they’ll need some crafts and activities to do to keep them busy throughout the day. This weekend, try out some of these cool activities with your little ones from Celebrations.com.
Seashell Jewelry
Seashells are known as Summer’s Jewel, so why not take advantage of this gem?
Consider making some shell jewelry by either collecting shells on the beach or buying them in the store and getting an assortment of beads. String the shells and beads on jewelry wire to make beautiful bracelets or necklaces.
Lemonade Stand
Help your nieces and nephews set up a lemonade stand this weekend and also help them get started with making the lemonade by cutting a few lemons for them.
When your little ones are decorating the stand, be sure they write down the price per cup. Maybe they’ll rally enough customers to save up for a new bike this summer.
Camping In The Backyard
To get summer started, it would be a great idea to pitch a tent in your backyard. Have the whole family take a day (or evening) having fun in the backyard. Be sure to have some outdoor games ready or a big jelly ball to toss around.
You can take advantage of your grill this weekend and grill up some delicious barbecue for the family and make S’mores for the kids.
You can also consider bringing out a big blanket, rug, or sheet from your home and laying it out on the grass in your yard to have a picnic! Be sure to have prepared some simple and easy-to-prepare items like sandwiches, juice, and cookies.
By taking part of these activities this weekend, you’re guaranteed to have a great start to a summer full of fun, and almost any of these ideas can translate into a fun birthday celebration.
