The May 31, 2009 cover of Parade Magazine features 36 year old Cameron Diaz and the magazine includes a lengthy interview with the stunning actor and her feelings about the 58 year old father she recently loss to complications from pneumonia and what it's like growing "older" in Hollywood.
What stood out to us, of course, are her thoughts on being an aunt: 'Diaz takes pride in being an aunt. “I have three nieces and a nephew,” she says. “I know what it’s like. I’ve changed the diapers. I’ve seen three births, so I totally get the whole picture. I don’t think it’s a compromise to have children. I don’t think it’s a compromise not to. I think it’s just a different choice.”'
Diaz goes on to question whether or not she'll ever have children, a choice she feels she still has time to make: "...I’m not somebody who is going to declare either way if I’m absolutely going to or I’m absolutely not going to have children. I have no idea. I’m still young. I have an unbelievable life. In some ways, I have the life that I have because I don’t have children.”
At 36, and in the Hollywood "baby-bump" spotlight, it's no surprise the actor, who has dated some of the most handsome leading men and pop stars including Justin Timberlake, is pressured to talk about her attitude towards motherhood. Luckily for her, she's got four children in her life for whom she's a Savvy Auntie.
Fittingly, she ends the interview with: "See why I feel lucky?”
