With the long-anticipated arrival of her niece, Ashlee Simpson is the newest proud Celeb-Auntie on the block.  Ashlee’s sister Jessica has given birth to a healthy daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, who weighed in at 9 lbs. 13 oz. and is 21¾ inches long. Little Maxwell’s name has deep family roots:  Maxwell is fiancé Eric Johnson’s middle name, and Drew is maternal grandmom Tina’s maiden name. Jessica had hinted in interviews that the name would be unusual for a little girl, but meaningful to the family, and she followed through.

Through over a decade of fame, the singer-turned-mogul sisters have remained close and constantly support each other in and out of the spotlight.  In her recent interviews, Ashlee has gushed how much she is looking forward to being an Auntie to Jessica’s daughter, and how she and her own son Bronx have been excitedly preparing for her niece’s arrival, with Bronx deciding which of his toys baby Maxwell should inherit!  Jessica has been a wonderful Auntie to Bronx, and Ashlee is really excited to fill that same amazing role for Maxwell.

Ashlee is gushing that she's smitten with the newest little member of her family.   "Bronx and I are in love with Maxwell already!" said Ashlee to People magazine,  "Jessica has wanted to be a mom since we were little girls and I couldn't be more excited for her and Eric!"

Ashlee was, of course, present at the hospital to support her sister and welcome her niece into the world.  In a recent interview, Ashlee bubbled with enthusiasm about her big sister's pregnancy, saying, "I'm definitely excited. She's amazing. She will be such a good mommy."
