Before all the toy recalls last fall, I heard about Bisphenol A – a bad chemical found in some toys. How do I make sure I don’t buy toys with this chemical in it? And is it really bad for you?

Bisphenol A is an important product used in the making of plastic, replacing the often more dangerous glass. You can see its value in products like baby bottles.  There’s simply no evidence to support that it’s dangerous to people. And children are not consuming enough to be exposed to any hypothetic risk. So your nieces and nephews are at no risk to toys that contain Bisphenol A.
