3 Ways to Make the Most of Valentine's Day
Did you notice that as soon as Christmas was over, out came the Valentine’s Day decor? Perhaps seeing all the hearts and pink stuffed animals got you thinking about love and how you want to spend the day. It can be a bit overwhelming due to the fact that now you have to gear up for another holiday that you may just not be ready for.
Valentine’s Day is packed with pressure and anticipation. The most important thing to remember is that February is the month of love.
Not only is there February 14th, but the entire month is also an opportunity to show love and be loved. Every day can be dedicated to a different person. Of course your niece or nephew can get more days on the love calendar than anyone else! There are some special things that you can do to celebrate love in your own way:
Write a love letter
If you are single write a love letter to yourself for Valentine’s Day. Having self-love as a priority is underrated. The best way to get the love of your life is to love yourself first. If you happen to be in a couple, whether you are in a new relationship or you have been with the Savvy Uncle to your niece and nephew for 15 years, writing a love letter can be the most romantic thing that you can do. It is a gift to anyone when you let him or her know how you feel about them.
Have a "Love Party!"
A Love Party is your way of getting everyone that you love in one room to celebrate how much you care. Not only is it touching, but it will also be so much fun! We always tell our friends that we want to introduce them to another fabulous person that we know, so what better place than the Love Party? Don't forget to invite your family; it is about time that your friends meet the niece or nephew you are always talking about.
Ask a special someone out
If you have the love of your life, ask your partner out on a date to make them feel wanted and special. If you are a Single Savvy Auntie, and you have your eye on someone, be bold and make the first move by asking him out on a date! This is not to say to chase a man, but you can hit the tennis ball and leave it in his court.
Valentine’s Day has become so commercial that some of the initial point of the day is lost. There is no reason that you cannot bring back the meaning and message of the day for yourself and the ones that you love.
