    What It Is

Hoverboards are a bit controversial, but we've put the Hovertrax 2.0 from Razor through its paces. If you follow the directions, especially the weight limits, you'll be able to ride this around with confidence. The idea that you're basically sailing around and controlling the steering with your body and minimal effort is super cool.

The Hovertrax 2.0 uses gyro-sensor technology that moves you along with a shift of your feet. It'll go backwards, forwards, and can take you around corners. It's even possible to do 360 spins on the Hovertrax, but you'll need to build up to that.

    Is It Fun?

There's a bit of a learning curve involved in getting used to this, which is why it's also great that the Hovertrax has a beginner mode that allows you to get your balance and feel confident. Once you've got yourself rolling, the Hovertrax will easily respond to the angle of your feet relative to the ground. Dual-hub motors provide a smooth ride for a full hour of continuous use for riders up to 220 pounds. When riding time's coming to an end, the LED indicator will tell you it's time to charge. The Hovertrax also features a blue LED light that glows over the hoverboard as you ride around town. This not only makes it look cool, but lets people know you're approaching during later hours.

    Who It’s For

Kids, ages 8 and up, will love zipping and spinning around on this cool hoverboard from Razor. Although it takes a little while to get used to the fundamentals of this great ride-on, it'll take longer to get them off the Hovertrax once they've got it. As you know, older kids have already taken a liking to hoverboards and we don't see that craze stopping any time soon.

    What To Be Aware Of

Here are a couple of tips Razor recommends that we found very helpful. First obviously, wear a helmet when you ride. Second, keep your feet nice and wide near the wheels in the center. Third, use this in a fairly open space and be mindful of the surface. Finally, keep your posture upright, but relaxed. You'll be amazed at how little you have to do to have big fun riding this and as your confidence builds, it just gets better. In all seriousness, read and follow the instructions that Razor provides. The Razor Hovertrax 2.0 is available in various colors (red, white, blue, black, green) and includes an instruction booklet and battery charger.
