New aunt to a young adult

I found out two months ago that I'm an aunt....to an 18 year old! I'm flying several hours to meet her in June, the week after her graduation from high school. As you can imagine, I'm both excited and nervous.
I thought I'd take her a gift of photos from our side of the family as she knows nothing about them. So, that's sorted.
What I'm a bit worried about is that she's planning to take off work for the three days I'm there to spend them with me. I've never been to her part of the world, so thought I'd start with a bit of an off the beaten track tourist info, asking her to show me her world and what things she likes to do.
She also wants me to meet some of the family, though not her mom. I figure if the topic of her mom and my brother come up, I'll just say that I'm here for my niece and that their relationship isn't my business.
Any suggestions are very welcome!
Thanks!
