How to Be an Adventurous Single and Savvy Auntie
Oh, snap! The summer is almost over, and you still haven’t had an adventure to boast and brag about. Don’t worry because there is still time to add some adventure in your life to end the summer with a bang and to propel you forward into the fall season.
Day trips – Depending on where you live, there could be a day trip waiting for you only a few miles away. Check the tourist website for your state and surrounding states; you might find something near that you did not even know existed. What is great about a day trip is that you can do it over the weekend for a quick get-away.
Do something adventurous with your niece or nephew – Kids tend to be ready for adventure at a moment’s notice. What fun and frolic you cook up with the little one(s)! The water park is always a good time, or try out a bumpy roller coaster or two at a theme park. Whatever you decide to do, they will be ready, willing, and able. The only thing left to wonder is can you keep up with them?
Go on a date with someone not your type – Some of you may rather sky dive than go out with someone who you consider not your normal type. However, you know the saying, “Opposites attract.” This is not to say that you should ignore the values that you want in a partner. If you like men over six feet, maybe you give the guy who is 5’ 10 ½” a shot. Maybe you think lawyers are stiff; you just may find a lawyer who is also creative, so he is fun and free. You never know who you will find if you take a different perspective on dating.
Book yourself on a singles cruise – Being on a boat with a bunch of singles may sound scary due to the fact that you cannot escape. Think about it from another point of view: what if the love of your life is on that boat? All it takes is one person to change your life. Even if you do not find true love on a singles cruise, you will be on an adventure to an exotic location, which can be just the thing to help you add more fun to your lifestyle.
Take a jaunt to a Renaissance Faire – Get together with a friend, and dress up to go play at the Renaissance Faire. It is the kind of experience where you get to play and not take things too seriously, as you experience magicians, Shakespeare, food, and so much more. Become your alter ego from another time period, and let yourself have a grand 'ole time.
Join an adventure club – In your local area, there is probably an adventure group or meet up. These types of clubs tend to mix it up by sailing, white water rafting, trips, etc. Not only will you be on adventures, but you’ll also meet a new group of people. If there is no group in your area, think about starting one. Most people need a little adventure in their life, so they will be ready to jump on your fun bandwagon.
