Role Model Aunties: Courtney Love & Reese Witherspoon

Written By Savvy Auntie Staff Writers
Courtney Love has built a reputation as the most notorious lady rocker in Hollywood. Years of struggling with drug addiction and public displays of bad behavior have drawn attention away from Love’s work as the lead songstress of punk-rock band, Hole, and shed a glaring light on her personal life. But despite her trail of troubles, it seems many young starlets these days are looking to the former Mrs. Kurt Cobain for advise and guidance, however unsoundly.
In a recent series of interviews with thefix.com, Love said she prevented Kelly Osborne from overdosing twice and received a phone call from Lindsay Lohan after one of her arrests. “I told Lindsay to get it together and trust the judge,” she said. “I’m not even that friendly with these girls. What am I, a junkie Auntie Mame?”
While Love continues to resist the notion that she might be a role model to some of today’s most badly behaving leading ladies, Reese Witherspoon proudly reminds young Hollywood that being good can be cool too. While accepting the coveted Generation Award at the MTV Movie Awards this past Sunday, the Mommy-Auntie said:
"I know it's cool to be bad, I get it—but it's also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed. You hid it under your bed. If you took naked pictures of yourself on your cellphone, you hide your face."
Thanks Reese, we here at Savvy Auntie are relieved to know that there are still some good ladies to look up to in Hollywood!
