We already know that Amy Schumer is a Savvy Auntie who loves showcasing her “QualAuntie Time” with her niece she affectionately dubbed #TheDuchess. This week, Schumer demonstrated how important it is for her niece to be exposed to positive role models. Schumer wants her niece to feel comfortable with who she is in her own skin. She posted an adorable photo of her niece on twitter explaining just this.
She captioned the photo: “…I like idea of sending women the message to be happy in their own skin. #peace”
Earlier this week, Schumer shared on
TODAY how her own body image issues have affected her in Hollywood. Confidence is important, she admits. And not having the confidence in how she was dressing for her body made her feel less confident on stage as a comedian. But then, the Emmy-Award winning comedian met Leesa Evans, her stylist on the set of Trainwreck. Schumer learned how to dress for her body, and she even got Evans to help her sister dress for her body, too. The sisters feel more confident in their own skin – and in their clothing.
And it was Evan’s styling tip that inspired Schumer to partner with the Goodwill of Southern California to educate and inspire women through fashion. And now, she’s inspiring her niece, #TheDuchess, too.
