Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and your little nieces and nephews may want to make their mom a special gift. And they may need a little help! Here are Mother's Day crafts to help them make a cherished gift for their mom.
Homemade Pot for Spring Flowers
This easy craft is something aunts and kids can do together, and it makes for the perfect springtime decoration. All you’ll need is a pot, some potting soil, flowerbeds for their mom’s favorite flowers, and some paint to decorate the pot. You and your niece or nephew can embellish it any way you choose, and the homemade essence of the gift is sure to have everyone smiling.
Personalized Bracelets and Necklaces
Sure, it sounds cliche, but a personalized Mother's Day bracelet or necklace is a standard gift every mom should receive at least once! Using jewelry string, colorful beads and letter beads, the children can spell out “I Love Mommy” or whatever phrase the kids wish to express.
“Ten Things I Love About Mom” Booklet
Help the children create a colorful booklet, listing the reasons why they love their mom. You’ll need some paper, crayons, markers, or colored pencils. You can even get some stickers, ribbon, and other scrapbook-style decorations. Why not add photos of the children with their mom, too? It’s personal and something their mom will keep forever.
Painted Footprint Butterflies
Not only does this make a fantastic gift, it’s also a ball of fun for everyone to do! All the children need to do is dip their feet in the paint, and stamp them on the paper to create the wings of the butterfly. Just make sure they roll their pants up! More directions here.
Painted Wooden Picture Frame
Find a cute photo of your nieces and nephews with their mom, and turn it into a forever-cherished gift. The kids can draw or paint whatever types of designs they like on a plain wooden frame that can be found at most craft stores. They can personalize it with a dedication like: “Best Mommy!” It’s something their mom can use more than once with different photos as the children grow.
