Celeb-Aunties And The Baby Rumor Mill

Written By Savvy Auntie Staff Writers
It's bad enough that many PANKs (Professional Aunts, No Kids) are routinely asked by well-meaning (and, sometimes, not-so-well-meaning) family members, friends and even strangers about their intentions of having children.
But imagine being a celebrity and waking up to headlines asserting that you have somehow become pregnant without your own knowledge.
This is the situation faced by many Celeb-Aunties, including Jennifer Aniston and Beyoncé Knowles.
Both women have been the subject of repeated pregnancy speculation; People Magazine has reported such rumors three separate times since March of this year, prompting Knowles' mother, Tina, to refute the rumor on Ellen Degeneres' talk show.
Savvy Auntie readers know Knowles best as Auntie to nephew Julez, son of her younger sister, Solange.
Jennifer Aniston, "Nouna" to Friends co-star Courtney Cox's daughter, Coco Arquette, has endured repeated pregnancy rumors since the late 90s. Celebuzz.com offers a brief history of the rumors, culminating in Aniston's controversial statements regarding having a baby on her own.
Our hearts go out to these Celeb-Aunties; celebrity is difficult enough without such brazen breaches of privacy. But what's a Savvy Auntie to do when confronted with prying questions such as these?
