Re-invent Yourself This Fall!
As we enter the new energy of fall, it’s a great time to look at re-inventing ourselves, Savvy Aunties. Our nephews and nieces are doing this right now as they step into their new school year. Why not do this right alongside them?
The beautiful reality is that we can re-invent ourselves and our lives at any moment in time. We may be out of one form of ‘class,' but we are surely in the class and school of ‘Life,' and a great way to harness the momentum of fall is to pick an area that we want re-invent about ourselves, and do it!
As I coach clients around this, what can come up is the fear of making a mistake. Just like our niece or nephew may hesitate on trying something new because they have doubt, or were told before that they aren’t doing something ‘right,' ask yourself this: “What if I can’t make a mistake, because there aren’t any mistakes? What would I give myself permission to do and to BE? What would I try?”
And, Savvy Aunties, what might you stop? And I bring up endings, because we can hold back from ending things - relationships, jobs, friendships, projects, bad habits, etc - despite the calling to do so. Deep down we get into some FEAR, and that fear is largely rooted in that we’ll be making some sort of ‘mistake,' or may ‘fail’ as we take new directions. The bottom line is that there aren’t really any mistakes in life.
So whether the re-invention comes from new beginnings or letting go of something old and outworn, let this energized time of fall be a time for re-invention!
