2011's Power-Aunties!
Written By Savvy Auntie Staff Writers
The annual TIME 100 issue features a list of the most influential people in the world. This year there are a record number of women on the list. From presidents to media moguls to comediennes to actresses to princesses, this year’s list includes 34 influential women, and among those women are some very Savvy Aunties. Here's a look at a few of our favorite Power-Aunties:
Kate Middleton: With the royal wedding a heartbeat away, all eyes are on this princess-to-be. Kate's already a wonderful Godmother to Prince William's Godchildren, Grace van Cutsem, 3, and Tom Pettifer, 8—they're in the royal bridal party!
Margaret H. Woodward: This inspiring Patri-Auntie is the first-ever woman to command the pilots of Air Force One. Who says we can't encourage our nieces to rock it in uniform?
Blake Lively: A Celeb-Auntie with spectacular style, Auntie Blake's Hollywood career is just taking off. When talking to Vogue about her upcoming starring role in Green Lantern she said, "All I want is to be a hero to my nephews and nieces, I'm going to be the coolest aunt ever."
Oprah Winfrey: The ultimate BenevolAuntie, Oprah continues to be an inspiration to all Aunties around the world! Ted Turner said, "I have often said that if women ruled the world for the next 100 years, we'd all be better off. I have a feeling that with the possibilities at Oprah's fingertips, we may be one step closer." We full-heartedly agree!
