4 Favorite Budget Apps for Auntie
I’m finding that new apps are coming out daily. It is definitely worth checking these out, especially if you’re a busy, budget-savvy Auntie. I tend to download more than one because the one that I love may not be the one that works best for you. Plus I need to use a few before I figure out which has the features I treasure the most.
Most of us don’t let our smartphones out of sight so why not help manage your expenses, keep more cash in your wallet and save more money at the same time? Links to the apps are on my blog.
BUDGT
This app doesn’t require you to input your personal account information, which can be a real plus for most of us.
BUDGT helps you keep track of your daily expenses (e.g., brunch with your eldest niece or a movie night with your nephews) in a very simple way and lets you know how much money you can spend each day, considering what you’ve already spent during the current month.
YNAB (You Need a Budget)
This app touts itself as a “living” budget. It’s Android- and iPhone-friendly. Try the 30-day trial. Well worth it!
YNAB allows you to easily set aside funds for larger, infrequent bills. Are you contributing to your niece’s or nephew’s next big birthday party or graduation trip abroad? Budget a certain amount each month into your “Nephew’s Birthday” or “Niece’s Graduation Trip” category and see the balance grow. Then present your loved one with the monetary gift when it comes time to celebrate!
MINT
If you have done any personal finance soul-searching these last few years, you have discovered MINT. I’m a fan of MINT mostly because it lets you see all your accounts in one place. It takes seconds to update. It may not be the best tool if you really want to change your habits, but it is a fantastic place to start.
DIVA DOCS
Be prepared, not scared. Don’t let the DIVA name fool you. This app means business. I love that I can store, virtually, all my important documents safe and secure. Who knows what will happen? But it’s an excellent backup!
DivaDocs also alerts you to upcoming due dates, deadlines, and important events to help avoid missed insurance premiums, tax filings, passport renewals, and even nieces’ and nephews’ birthdays that might sneak up on you!
What’s your favorite budget app? Let me know on my blog!
