Pampers Dry Max Update
In response to a query I received in May over the alleged link between Pampers with Dry Max and diaper rash, I advised Savvy Auntie readers to rest assured that it was perfectly safe to continue the use of these diapers without any fear of causing harm or injury to baby nieces and nephews. Mass hysteria was to blame for this myth - not the manufacturer, Proctor & Gamble.
Here now to reaffirm these findings is a comprehensive review conducted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) of 4,700 complaints that stated in early September. Officials found that there was no evidence to link Pampers Dry Max technology to diaper rash. After analyzing the materials, construction, heat retention and moisture retention properties of the Dry Max diapers as well as clinical and toxicological data, the CPSC determined the diapers were safe and that it is not uncommon for babies to get diaper rash once a month.
So the next time your baby niece or nephew experiences irritation or burning, try changing the diaper brand or consulting a pediatrician, but don’t blame Pampers Dry Max for this common malady.
