Five Kid-Friendly End of the Summer Vacations
By Alvina Brown
Summer is almost over and the school year is right around the corner. Instead of hitting the back-to-school sales, how about you plan an end of the summer vacation? Check out this list of niece and nephew friendly vacations.
1. Orlando – Walk Disney World
No matter what age you are, you’re never too old for Disney World. Experience your childhood and the sound of your nieces and nephews enjoying themselves with the rest of the Disney crew. Give them a choice of which part they want to visit and ask them what Disney characters they are most excited to see.
2. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Want a nice clean beach? Myrtle Beach is the place to be. There is more to offer besides the miles of sand. Go take your nieces and nephews to amusement parks, golfing suitable for all ages and even a little Broadway at the beach.
3. Washington D.C.
A little education on vacation can go a long way. The National Mall in D.C. is the key to its appeal. You are going to want to treat them to the National Zoo, tours of classic attractions, like the White House and the Lincoln Memorial. Show them that learning about American history can be fun and educational. At the end of all that learning, stop by Thomas’s Sweet Ice Cream for a homemade treat.
4. New York City, NY
What’s better than stomping through the concrete jungle full of lights and noise? Grab a slice of $1 pizza from Times Square and take your nieces and nephews' pictures with some of their favorite TV characters. Stop by the American Museum of Natural History in the Upper East Side and learn about everything from dinosaurs to what goes on in space. There are plenty of kid-friendly attractions all throughout New York.
5. Honolulu – Oahu – Hawaii
Snorkeling, surfing, and swimming with dolphins are just a few activities Honolulu has to offer. Splurge a little and take your nieces and nephews to the Hawaiian Adventure Water Park. Along with the fun stuff comes a little cultural history, so check out Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial and 'Iolani Palace.
These are just a few of the amazing places you can take your nieces and nephews. Check these out and let us know where you go for your end of the summer vacation!
