My niece entered this world on August 14th. The call that told me she was in labor woke me up, and I ran to tell my parents. Sadly I had to wait to go to the hospital, but once I was there, I did my best to provide comfort. The labor was long and waiting was awful. But once she arrived, it was all worth it. I was honored to be one of the first to hold her, and I helped the new daddy learn how to hold his daughter. I was nervous that I wasn’t going to love the baby right away, but I did from the moment I held her. I knew immediately that my niece and I will be besties. I can’t wait to read to her, tell her embarrassing stories, braid her hair, teach her how to dance and watch her grow. It’s my senior year of high school now and with all my responsibilities, I wish I had more time for her. I also am already sad at the prospect of having to leave her when I go to college. However, that’s an issue for another day. For now, I have a niece to hold, a brother to support and a sister to help.

You are already such a big help and a wonderful aunt. Love transcends all borders. It'll be hard to be away from her, but I know from being away from Amelia (see blog post) that nothing can change how much you both will love and cherish each other. You're doing a great job! Keep it up! Hugs and kisses, Andy
