What It Is
Kids can make friendship bracelets with this cool jewelry making kit, the KumiKreator Friendship Bracelet Maker. Drawing inspiration from the art of Japanese Kumi bracelets, the KumiKreator makes it easy to create stylish friendship bracelets. This DIY kit allows kids ages 8 and up to create up to 10 bracelets. It comes with the bracelet making machine, 88 spools of string in five bright colors, clasps, clasp stickers, and a design booklet. You can choose one of the designs or create your own pattern. To start, choose your string colors, load each of the spools into the machine in the order specified in the design booklet or the one you've created, and turn the handle to braid. We found it fun, and fairly easy to do. When a bracelet is finished, remove it from the machine, and add a clasp sticker and clasp. Additional Fashion Packs are sold separately with more spools of string for making more jewelry including the KumiJewels Fashion Pack. It has 96 spools to make 12 unique bracelets in bold jewel tones.
Is It Fun?
This is a fun DIY kit that allows kids to create multiple bracelets for wearing, and sharing. The bracelets are cool, stylish, and fun to make. It offers a great way for kids to get creative.
Who It’s For
The KumiKreator is recommended for kids ages 8 years old and up. We think some 6 and 7 year olds would enjoy this too but the loading of the spools into the machine has to be done exactly right so it may be easier for slightly older children.
What To Be Aware Of
The KumiKreator Friendship Bracelet Maker comes with a machine, and enough string and other parts to create up to 10 bracelets. The machine can be used again and again though with string purchased separately. Additional Fashion Packs are available with different color palettes to choose from.
